Starptautiskās Modernās pieccīņas federācijas prezidents Klauss Šormans, izsūtot federācijām oficiālu vēstuli, paziņojis, ka modernā pieccīņa ir iekļauta 2020.gada Olimpisko Spēļu sporta veidu sarakstā. Viņš arī atzīst, ka šis lēmums ir ļoti svarīgs visiem, kā arī  izsaka pateicību tiem, kuri atbalstījuši modernās pieccīņas attīstību, un novēl tā turpināt vēl 100 gadus atrodoties Olimpiskajā kustībā! What a great moment for us today, one that we must celebrate.

Modern Pentathlon is inside of the 25 core sports for the future after 2016
Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

I thank all of you, for your ongoing support over the last years to develop
our sport in the right direction. I know, it was a hard work for all of us,
but together we made it work, with fantastic success.

Together we are a great TEAM! You all have my deep respect and I look
forward to celebrating with all of you at some stage in 2013.

My best personal greetings and best wishes. Let’s focus on an even more
successful future and 100 more years in the Olympic movement.
